Since our methodology of Educational Informatics calls for the identification of texts that are being used in any given learning or teaching activity, understanding the role of computers in Education requires the understanding of the role of texts in Education. Thus I became interested in Literacy, as the study of texts as information systems for learners, and texts as the missing link between Education and Informatics. Understanding the use of computers in Education must start therefore with understanding of texts.
